Simple Construction-Themed Birthday Party Supplies, Delivered

When our son turned 4 this year, he was all about trucks, diggers, and anything with wheels — so a construction theme was an easy yes.

We decided to host his party at a local indoor playground, which meant we’d only be in the party room for a short time. I didn’t want to go all out on decorations we’d barely use, but I still wanted the space to feel fun and on theme for him.

Each kid got a small toy construction truck, a mini shovel, and a bag of my son’s favorite Skittles.

That’s it — no complicated crafts, no expensive goodie bags, just fun toys and candy they were excited about. The trucks and shovels fit the theme perfectly and doubled as something they could play with later.

Decorating the Cake Table — The Easiest Part

One of my favorite little touches was using some of the extra construction trucks to decorate the cake and cupcake stand.

I just placed a few trucks around the base, added a big “4” on top of the cake, and suddenly it looked like a themed display — with zero extra effort.

Simple, cute, and totally kid-approved.


Don’t Forget the Thank You Notes

I also ordered truck-themed thank you notes to match everything else. It made writing them after the party feel easy and cohesive — and it’s such a simple way to tie the whole theme together.

They were bright, playful, and made my little guy excited to help sign his name.
